V&A Appoints Nile Rodgers and The Last Dinner Party to Curate David Bowie Centre Exhibits

Visitors will soon be able to pre-book one-on-one viewings of archive items through the museum’s new ‘Order An Object’ service.

Overview

  • Chic guitarist Nile Rodgers will curate a display featuring personal correspondence, a bespoke Peter Hall Serious Moonlight suit and studio photographs from Let’s Dance sessions.
  • Brit Award-winning band The Last Dinner Party will showcase Bowie’s handwritten lyrics, Mick Rock photographs and an Electronic Music Studios synthesizer manual from his Berlin trilogy.
  • The Centre opens on September 13 at the V&A East Storehouse in Stratford with free ticketed entry and rotating guest-curated showcases.
  • More than 90,000 items from Bowie’s personal archive will be housed across three interactive zones featuring audio-visual installations and study areas.
  • The newly launched ‘Order An Object’ service enables visitors to pre-book one-on-one viewings of selected artefacts.
