Overview

• A UWA delegation led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Guy Littlefair is in India to advance engagement with government agencies and build institutional and industry partnerships.
• The institution will open Mumbai first as the operational hub, followed by Chennai, with on-the-ground arrangements, facilities and staffing still being finalized.
• Academic plans differentiate the sites, with Mumbai focused on business, entrepreneurship and enterprise, and Chennai on STEM fields including engineering, technology and computer science.
• The campuses are designed as innovation and entrepreneurship centers featuring startup launchpads, incubation programs and collaborative research spanning sustainable mining, renewable energy, climate and ocean science.
• Existing collaborations include Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone for health and medtech exposure, Avid Sports for sports science pathways and HCLTech to embed industry-led innovation in curriculum and research.
