Overview
- The Mains examination scheduled for December 6–9 has been stayed by the High Court in Nainital over challenges to four prelims questions.
- Judges ordered the complete removal of question number 70 and directed an expert committee to re-examine the other three disputed questions.
- The preliminary test at issue was held in June 2024, and petitions were filed by several candidates, including Kuldeep Kumar, alleging errors and ambiguities.
- The court said the Mains cannot be conducted until an impartial review is completed and the merit list is recalculated.
- The decision affects the 2024–25 recruitment for 123 posts such as deputy collector, DSP, and BDO, and UKPSC will announce new dates after the review.
