Uttarakhand Clears Family ID Scheme, Raises Dharali Relief Payouts

Unique Family IDs will connect households to welfare schemes, with district pilots before statewide rollout next fiscal.

Overview

  • Cabinet gave in-principle approval to the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana to register every resident family and issue unique Family IDs.
  • Family IDs will be linked to central and state welfare programmes to enable direct benefit delivery through a single online dashboard.
  • Implementation will use door-to-door enumeration alongside digital self-registration, coordinated by the Revenue, Panchayati Raj and Social Welfare departments.
  • The state plans mobile apps and AI-driven verification for data accuracy and fraud detection, with pilot runs in select districts soon.
  • In the same meeting, the cabinet raised Dharali disaster compensation to ₹5 lakh for bereaved families and for fully damaged concrete homes, and added ₹1 lakh from the CM Relief Fund for owners of damaged kuchha houses.
