• Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved a 3% Dearness Allowance increase for employees and pensioners of local bodies and state public sector undertakings, according to the CMO.
• The revised rate will apply from July 1, 2025 and will be reflected in the October 2025 salary credited in November.
• Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief are cost-of-living adjustments used to cushion inflation during peak spending seasons such as Diwali.
• Uttar Pradesh earlier raised DA/DR by 3%, moving from 55% to 58% with effect from July 1, a step touted to benefit about 28 lakh employees and pensioners.
• News18 reported Uttarakhand also approved a Diwali bonus of up to Rs 7,000 for eligible staff and up to Rs 1,200 for daily wage and casual workers.
