Uttarakhand Cabinet Approves Four New Art Installations at Badrinath Temple
Installations funded under CSR with government backing will spring from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s master plan to deepen the shrine’s spiritual ambience.

- Cabinet approved four sculptural projects—the Sheshnetra Lotus Wall at the lakefront, Sudarshan Chakra installations at the arrival plaza and tourism building, and a tree-and-river sculpture at Badrinarayan Chowk—under the Badrinath redevelopment master plan.
- The master plan undergoes regular virtual reviews by the Prime Minister’s Office and Uttarakhand officials as part of a wider reconstruction drive initiated after the 2013 floods.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has personally overseen the reconstruction efforts at both Badrinath and Kedarnath since taking office in 2014.
- The cabinet also sanctioned the restructuring of the Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission with 12 new posts and added 15 positions to the Subordinate Service Selection Commission.
- The government exempted plug-in hybrid and strong hybrid electric vehicles from motor vehicle tax for the 2025-26 fiscal year to promote eco-friendly transport.
