• On the night of August 7 on Khurgan Road in Shamli district, three assailants overtook Shahnawaz’s motorcycle as he headed to his brother-in-law’s wedding
• They beat him with sticks, stabbed him multiple times and shot him before fleeing the scene
• His wife, Mafreen, initially reported a robbery but police interrogation exposed her affair with cousin Tasawer and her role in the ambush
• Authorities have detained Mafreen (26), Tasawer (25) and their accomplice Shoaib (22), who remain in custody as the investigation continues
• Shamli police have sent the victim’s body for post-mortem and are awaiting forensic results to finalize their case
