Uttar Pradesh Transfers ₹2,094 Crore To 2.09 Lakh Urban Housing Beneficiaries Under PMAY Urban 2.0

The rollout now shifts to milestone checks for subsequent payments tied to construction progress.

Overview

  • District-wise transfers included 8,937 beneficiaries in Ghaziabad, 8,568 in Lucknow, 7,142 in Gorakhpur and 7,214 in Pratapgarh, among other cities across the state.
  • Under the scheme, ₹1,00,000 is paid upfront, a second ₹1,00,000 is released when construction reaches 75%, and a final ₹50,000 is paid on completion.
  • The chief minister ordered municipal bodies to appoint nodal officers, ensure timely access to construction materials at appropriate rates and release installments without delay.
  • With this tranche, the state reports about 62 lakh families have received housing benefits across rural and urban areas, including 19.75 lakh urban beneficiaries to date.
  • At a Lucknow event in Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar joined virtually as officials noted that many homes are allotted in women’s names or jointly.
