Overview
- Mobile awareness vans equipped with posters, banners and audiovisual units are touring neighbourhoods to explain diarrhoea causes, symptoms and prevention.
- ORS-Zinc corners have been set up at public health centres while private hospitals and clinics are encouraged to establish similar hubs and report cases.
- ASHA workers have compiled village-level registries of children under five, distributed emergency ORS packets and undergone specialised training to advise families at the first sign of diarrhoea.
- Population Services International India and Kenvue have launched the “Diarrhoea Se Darr Nahi” drive across Firozabad, Mathura, Moradabad, Badaun, Unnao, Gonda and Shravasti in the campaign’s initial phase.
- Under the theme “Prevention of Diarrhoea, Cleanliness, and Self-Care with ORS,” the initiative promotes clean water access, proper sanitation and prompt ORS-zinc treatment to reduce monsoon-related child mortality.
