Overview

  • Over 6,000 workers from 58 Gram Panchayats manually desilted 23 km of the riverbeds under the MGNREGA scheme, generating more than 23,000 man-days of employment at a cost of Rs 57 lakh.
  • Authorities issued strict notices to nearby factories to halt industrial effluent discharges, preventing further pollution of both waterways.
  • Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ drive, more than 40,000 native saplings were planted along the Noon river and 11,000 along Pili Nadi, with a target of 51,000 by August 15.
  • The restored rivers have regained steady flow after years of neglect, emerging as green ecological corridors that support local agriculture and biodiversity.
  • An ancient Shiva temple on Pili Nadi’s bank was renovated ahead of the month of Sawan, reinforcing the project’s cultural and spiritual significance.
