Uttar Pradesh Puts Ayodhya, Mathura on Maximum Alert for Dec. 6 Anniversary

Authorities cite the sensitive Dec. 6 anniversary, deploying drones, zone-based supervision, specialised units to reinforce security.

Overview

  • In Ayodhya, SSP Gaurav Grover directed all police stations to stay on alert with intensified foot patrols and continuous checks at hotels, dharamshalas, guest houses, dhabas and incoming vehicles.
  • In Mathura, DIG Shailesh Kumar Pandey said vigilance was tightened with barricades around the Krishna Janmabhoomi–Shahi Idgah area, CCTV and drone monitoring, and the complex mapped into two zones, four super zones and eight sectors.
  • SSP Shlok Kumar said zones and sectors are supervised by senior gazetted officers, with additional force from other districts plus PAC and RAF positioned for rapid response.
  • Statewide, police increased presence at railway stations, bus stands, district borders, markets and public spaces, conducting surprise checks across police station limits.
  • Officials said vigilance also reflects concern after a deadly car explosion in Delhi with suspected Uttar Pradesh links.
