  • Field inspections at sweet manufacturers and retail stalls found many products lacked clear manufacture or expiry details, which officials say prevented consumers from making informed choices about freshness and safety.
  • Separately, the department has banned ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol as coolants in milk and milk-product processing units and recommended propylene glycol as a safer, already used alternative.
