Overview
- The Uttar Pradesh government has directed all state offices to begin mandatory 'Y-Break' yoga sessions immediately under the Ministry of AYUSH’s guidance
- Each session lasts five to ten minutes and includes light neck, back and waist movements along with deep breathing and mindfulness exercises
- Digital platforms such as the Namaste Yoga App and Y-Break App will be widely promoted to help employees and the public adopt the practice
- State officials have scheduled mass yoga demonstrations on June 21 at sites including Gorakhdham Temple in Gorakhpur, Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Chakratirth in Naimisharanya and Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi
- Resident Welfare Associations and NGOs will conduct Common Yoga Protocol workshops and the government plans to establish public yoga parks with trained instructors and fitness facilities
