Overview
- The state government has issued an order that sets the annual summer vacation for schools run by or recognised by the Basic Education Council from May 20 to June 24, with regular classes to resume on June 25.
- The change replaces repeated local extensions by district authorities and creates a uniform academic calendar intended to reduce disruption from extreme heat.
- All teachers, Shiksha Mitras, instructors and non-teaching staff are required to report to schools on June 22–24 to carry out preparations including lesson planning, mid-day meal arrangements and textbook distribution.
