Overview
- The Uttar Pradesh government has identified 10,336 child labourers and aims to make the state child labour-free by 2027 through a comprehensive campaign.
- Between 2017 and 2025, 12,426 child labourers have been rehabilitated and reintegrated into schools, with 2,000 children enrolled under the Bal Shramik Vidya Yojana.
- Economic assistance has been provided to 1,089 families to alleviate financial pressures that lead to child labour and ensure children's education.
- The campaign also addresses bonded labour, rehabilitating 1,408 individuals with ₹18.17 crore in financial aid since 2017.
- Special awareness programs are scheduled for June 12, coinciding with the World Day Against Child Labour, to reinforce societal commitment to ending child labour.
