Overview

  • Under the Buddhist Tirtha Darshan Yojana, each Buddhist pilgrim will receive a minimum Rs 10,000 grant to visit key sacred sites across India, with priority for ordained monks.
  • The Panch Takht Yatra Yojana offers Sikh devotees from Uttar Pradesh at least Rs 10,000 each for journeys to the five Takht Sahib locations: Anandpur Sahib, Akal Takht Sahib, Damdama Sahib, Takht Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib and Harmandir Ji Sahib (Patna Sahib).
  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that both schemes be run entirely online in partnership with IRCTC to ensure transparent application processing.
  • Beneficiary selection criteria will favour applicants from economically weaker sections to expand access to spiritual travel among marginalized communities.
  • These initiatives aim to foster spiritual upliftment, social harmony and national integration under the state’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat vision.
