Overview
- Drive serves as the flagship event of phase two of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign launched nationally on June 5.
- More than 25 crore citizens, 60,182 public representatives and 26 government departments are mobilised across all 75 districts.
- Digital geo tagging, mandatory photo uploads and district nodal officers will oversee planting and track sapling survival.
- Over 12.5 crore saplings will be planted under MGNREGA to generate rural employment and support community stewardship.
- The state forest department will plant 3.5 crore saplings along riverbanks while farmers can earn roughly ₹42 lakh in carbon credit benefits.
