Uttar Pradesh Certifies Four More Automated Vehicle Testing Stations, Taking Total to 14

New certifications follow mandatory audits with digital integration to AFMS, VAHAN, eChallan to shift fitness checks to transparent, machine-led testing.

  • Final registration certificates dated August 26, 2025 were issued by the transport department, lifting the operational Automated Testing Station count to 14.
  • The newly approved centres are AKRS ATS Pvt Ltd in Lucknow, Sharp-N-India with Triplea Tech Integrator in Agra, Air Sales Corporation in Kanpur Nagar, and Mamta Hygiene Products Pvt Ltd in Mirzapur.
  • Certification comes after pre-commissioning audits and verification of system linkages, with vehicle tests running on automated, CCTV-monitored, data-logged equipment.
  • The SOP limits a maximum of three ATS per district while allowing any one applicant to run one per district and up to three across Uttar Pradesh.
  • Each site must provide at least two lanes on a minimum two-acre plot, apply via the NSWS portal with document verification, pay a Rs 50,000 fee, and furnish a Rs 500,000 bank guarantee valid for 10 years and 6 months.
