Uttar Pradesh Bans Caste-Based Rallies, Scrubs Caste From Police Records After HC Order

  • Officiating Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar issued a 10-point order late Sunday with immediate statewide effect.
  • Police must remove caste fields from FIRs, arrest and seizure memos, and station notice boards, and record both parents’ names, including the mother.
