Overview
- The Forest and Wildlife Department has allocated Rs 1.5 crore for the initial phase of RRA-3 and RRA-4 to enhance conservation infrastructure.
- RRA-3 and RRA-4 will follow the models of RRA-1 and RRA-2 to facilitate semi-wild monitoring of rhinos and other wildlife.
- Rs 1.27 crore of the budget is designated for maintaining natural habitats, water bodies and favourable vegetation.
- Funds have been set aside for wildlife medicines, monitoring devices and civil works to strengthen surveillance against poaching.
- Training programmes and outreach efforts will involve local communities in long-term conservation and biodiversity protection.
