Uttar Pradesh Announces ODOP 2.0, Proposes One District–One Cuisine to Scale Local Industries

New directives move ODOP into modern retail to raise standards, certification and exports.

Overview

  • Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the next phase of One District–One Product will focus on turning traditional goods into stronger platforms for larger markets and sustainable jobs.
  • A proposed One District–One Cuisine initiative will map each district’s signature dishes with upgrades to hygiene, packaging, branding and marketing.
  • Officials were directed to secure dedicated ODOP sections in Unity Malls and to work with major retail chains for prominent placement beyond traditional markets.
  • Common Facility Centres will include expert participation so small producers can access technical advice, design support, packaging solutions and production assistance in one place.
  • The state cited programme results since 2018—over 1.25 lakh toolkits, more than Rs 6,000 crore in loans, support for 8,000+ entrepreneurs, 30 CFCs and 44 GI tags—with plans to certify products via reputed institutions and prioritise high-performing units for scale.
