- The Uttar Pradesh government formalized a lease of 2.32 hectares in Chakauli village to EFLU for a permanent Lucknow campus at Re 1 per year under a 99-year term.
- Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay oversaw the transfer ceremony and underscored the state’s pledge to offer youth linguistic education at global standards.
- EFLU Vice-Chancellor Prof N Nagaraju described the land transfer as a milestone that will develop the Lucknow campus into a leading centre for language studies and research.
- The planned permanent campus will host BA (Honours) English, MA English, MA Linguistics, MA English Literature, PGDTE and PhD programmes and part-time courses in French, German, Russian and Spanish.
- Until construction timelines and funding are finalized, EFLU will continue operating from its temporary complex on Kanpur Road in Lucknow.
