Overview
- Utilita began issuing the £150 Warm Home Discount to customers with smart prepay meters on 7 January and aims to complete this group by the end of January.
- The £150 is sent directly to electricity smart meters with an option to transfer to gas via My Utilita, and any outstanding account debt is reduced before remaining credit is applied.
- Customers who pay by Direct Debit or on receipt of bill will have the discount credited to their energy account and see it on February bills for January usage.
- Payments are being made in batches, with Utilita asking customers who have not heard by 28 January to get in touch; the 2025–26 scheme runs until 31 March 2026.
- Eligibility this winter depends on receiving specified benefits on 24 August 2025, with automatic delivery in England and Wales, applications required for most in Scotland, and no scheme in Northern Ireland.
