- The three-year-old daughter was able to free herself, while Ponson and her son remained trapped until the students and a U.S. Air Force serviceman, Dominique Childress, lifted the car and pulled them to safety.
- The two-year-old son was airlifted to the hospital but did not suffer any serious injuries. Ponson has undergone surgery and is expected to recover.
