UTAH MAYOR ANNOUNCES BID TO UNSEAT SENATOR MITT ROMNEY

Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs announced he will seek the Senate seat currently held by Sen. Mitt Romney in Utah's 2024 Senate election.
Staggs believes Romney has let personal beefs get in the way of good governance and has not been an effective leader for the state.
Staggs brands Romney as a "Massachusetts millionaire" who moved to Utah and criticizes his votes to impeach Trump.
Staggs is confident he can overcome Romney's national name recognition and appeal to Republican primary voters who feel abandoned by the incumbent.
Romney's challengers will likely face an uphill battle due to his widespread popularity in Utah as a prominent member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his role in saving the 2002 Winter Olympics.
