Utah Mammoth Open 146,000-Square-Foot, Two-Rink Training HQ in Sandy

The tech-forward complex debuts for the start of camp, signaling ownership’s drive to speed the franchise’s growth.

Overview

  • The facility at The Shops at South Town houses team offices and two NHL-size ice sheets as the club’s daily base.
  • Smith Entertainment Group delivered the project in roughly 13 months after acquiring the site, with more than 50 Utah-based contractors, an average of 125 workers per day, and over 175,000 labor hours.
  • Player areas include LPS tracking over both rinks, an 8,082-square-foot gym with turf and camera-enabled squat racks, a 22-foot therapy pool, sauna and steam rooms, and automated skate sharpening.
  • Multiple locker rooms, recovery and medical suites, a performance kitchen, and lounge spaces are operational for a 66-player camp, with public retail, skate rentals, concessions, and community programs slated for early 2026.
  • As camp opens, GM Bill Armstrong said goaltender Connor Ingram will be placed on waivers by mutual agreement, and Delta Center renovations continue for the 2025–26 season.
