• All player jerseys this season will feature a left‑chest patch with the name “Frank.”
• Coaches will wear a circle “1” patch on warm-ups, reflecting the number the team retired for Layden in 1989.
• The patch is scheduled to debut on Oct. 8 when Utah faces Houston.
• Team president Jim Olson said few people influenced the Jazz more than Layden and that the patch lets players and coaches carry his legacy each game.
• Layden helped build the modern Jazz as GM and head coach, uniquely swept top NBA awards in 1984, and died in July at age 93.
