Overview
- Just before 6 a.m. Friday in Weber Canyon, a man and woman stopped on I-84 to assist a crashed car.
- They ran when another vehicle approached with locked brakes, and the woman jumped a barrier and fell between two bridge structures.
- Troopers described pitch-black, icy conditions and said the pair were from out of town and unfamiliar with the area, urging would-be helpers to weigh personal safety.
- UHP reported no other injuries and said the other drivers on scene did not contribute to the fatality.
- Investigators are offering trauma resources to those involved and expect to release identification details after notifying next of kin.
