Utah Goalie Connor Ingram Cleared to Return by NHL/NHLPA Program

The goaltender comes back after a mental-health leave following his mother's death.

Overview

  • The NHL and NHLPA announced on Aug. 20 that Ingram has been cleared to rejoin the NHL and will report to Utah for training camp.
  • He last played on Feb. 22 and finished last season with 22 appearances, a 3.27 goals-against average, and an .882 save percentage.
  • Utah will assess his readiness in camp, with Karel Vejmelka viewed as the presumptive starter after signing a five-year extension in March.
  • The Mammoth signed Vítek Vaněček to a one-year, $1.5 million contract in July to reinforce the position, setting up a three-way competition.
  • Ingram previously entered the Player Assistance Program in 2020-21 to address obsessive-compulsive disorder and now enters the final year of his $1.95 million deal before unrestricted free agency.
