USWNT Star Macario Signs with Chelsea on Free Transfer

Chelsea have signed Catarina Macario on a free transfer from Lyon.
Macario is a 23-year-old attacking midfielder and will officially join the Women's Super League champions on a three-year deal from July 1.
Macario is a creative player who can play as a false nine, playmaker, or lead the forward line in a front three.
She was instrumental in Lyon's 2021-22 season, helping them regain the Division 1 Feminine and Champions League titles.
Macario has been out injured for the entirety of this season having torn her anterior cruciate ligament in Lyon's final league game of the 2021-22 season.
