Overview

  • The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has committed $800 million to upgrade the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the largest single investment in U.S. Open history.
  • Arthur Ashe Stadium will receive a new grand entrance, expanded concourses, 2,000 additional courtside seats, and two new luxury suite levels while maintaining its 24,000-seat capacity.
  • A $250 million, two-story player performance center will feature enhanced fitness areas, redesigned locker rooms, private dining spaces, and a player courtyard for improved athlete amenities.
  • The project, fully self-funded by the USTA without public or taxpayer money, will be executed in phases to avoid disrupting the 2025 and 2026 U.S. Open tournaments.
  • Renovations, led by architectural firm Rossetti in collaboration with Daniel Libeskind, are scheduled for completion ahead of the 2027 U.S. Open, ensuring the venue’s competitiveness for decades.
