- The Postal Service announced the Jimmy Carter Forever stamp will be released Oct. 1 to mark what would have been his 101st birthday.
- Art director Ethel Kessler’s design draws on a 1982 oil-on-linen portrait by Herbert E. Abrams.
- The reveal took place at the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park in Plains, Georgia, with members of the Carter family and the Friends of Jimmy Carter present.
- Following its release, the stamp will be sold for the standard 78-cent Forever rate at post offices nationwide and through the USPS online store.
- The commemorative issue pays tribute to Carter’s post-presidential humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts, including his decades of work with Habitat for Humanity.
