USPS to Issue Jimmy Carter Forever Stamp on Oct. 1

The stamp design by art director Ethel Kessler, based on Herbert E. Abrams’s 1982 portrait, was unveiled in Plains, Georgia.

  • The reveal took place at the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park in Plains, Georgia, with members of the Carter family and the Friends of Jimmy Carter present.
  • Following its release, the stamp will be sold for the standard 78-cent Forever rate at post offices nationwide and through the USPS online store.
  • The commemorative issue pays tribute to Carter’s post-presidential humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts, including his decades of work with Habitat for Humanity.
