USPS Sets Oct. 1 Release for Jimmy Carter Forever Stamp

  • The featured image is a 1982 oil-on-linen life study by artist Herbert E. Abrams created for Carter’s official White House portrait.
  • USPS art director Ethel Kessler designed the commemorative issue.
  • USPS announced the release from Plains High School at the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park after the design was revealed to family representatives on Aug. 16.
  • The stamp will be available at Post Offices and on usps.com, and the Postal Service did not specify pricing in its announcement.
