USPS Reissues Mister Rogers Forever Stamp After Public Vote

The reissue will roll out nationwide on June 1 as part of the Postal Service's 250th-anniversary Stamp Encore program.

Overview

  • USPS announced at the Boston 2026 World Exposition on May 24 that the 2018 Mister Rogers stamp won the public-driven Stamp Encore contest after more than 500,000 votes and a margin of over 40,000 votes.
  • The Postal Service made the reissued Forever stamp available immediately at the Expo and sold a new four-image Mister Rogers souvenir sheet exclusively there through May 30, with Post Office and online sales starting June 1.
  • The reissue is issued as Forever stamps in panes of 20 and the souvenir sheet in panes of four, and USPS credited art director Derry Noyes and photographer Walt Seng for the stamp imagery.
  • USPS said the original 2018 run of about 12 million stamps sold out within weeks, and it is offering related merchandise such as a writing kit, a premium stamp pin and a Field Notes memo pad on The Postal Store beginning June 1.
  • The Stamp Encore contest was launched for USPS's 250th anniversary to boost public engagement and product revenue, and the Mister Rogers win reflects broad nostalgia and local campaigning that amplified voter turnout.
