Overview

  • The USPS filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission seeking temporary price increases on Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, USPS Ground Advantage, Parcel Select and Flat-Rate products from Oct. 5, 2025, through Jan. 18, 2026.
  • Proposed adjustments are tiered by service, weight and distance, with the highest hikes for Zones 5–9 and heavy parcels adding as much as $16 per package.
  • The Postal Service says the seasonal rates are meant to cover extra handling expenses during the holiday peak and to align its pricing with competitive shipping options.
  • Other product prices, including stamps, will remain unchanged under this targeted seasonal adjustment.
  • The filing follows recent permanent rate hikes under the Delivering for America plan and arrives as some areas report service reductions and delivery delays.
