USPS Operation Santa Program Brings Holiday Magic to Families in Need

The annual initiative allows children to send letters to Santa and offers participants the chance to adopt letters and fulfill holiday wishes.

Operation Santa, run by the U.S. Postal Service, enables children to write letters to Santa, with some letters published online for adoption by generous participants.
Letters must be postmarked by Monday, December 9, to be eligible for the program, with adopters able to choose and fulfill requests through December 16.
Participants can adopt letters via the USPS website, with options to purchase gifts through Santa's Gift Shoppe, an online catalog created in collaboration with Toys 'R' Us.
Local letter-writing initiatives are also available in Michigan communities, with special drop-off points set up in cities like Ann Arbor, Frankenmuth, and Marquette.
The program, which began in 1912, continues to expand, offering new features like the online catalog to streamline gift-giving and spread holiday cheer.
