Overview
- USPS began accepting letters to Santa in mid-September, with the program portal live and guidance available on USPSOperationSanta.com.
- Key dates include adopter registration opening Nov. 2, letter adoption beginning Nov. 16, a Dec. 5 postmark deadline for eligibility, and Dec. 12 as the last day for adopters and recommended ship-by date.
- Letters must follow official program rules and be addressed to Santa at 123 Elf Rd., North Pole, 88888 to be considered for adoption.
- People may register to adopt as individuals or groups, can choose single or family letters, and adopters may shop through the USPS online Santa’s Gift Shoppe or buy gifts independently.
- The long-running program, now in its 114th year, aims to help children and families in the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, though USPS warns there is no guarantee any submitted letter will be adopted.
