Usher and Big Sean Commit $1 Million to Detroit Youth Creative-Tech Incubator

The facility is slated to open inside Michigan Central’s new Boys & Girls Club in February 2026.

Overview

  • The Detroit Entertainment Innovation Incubator will provide a virtual production studio, special effects lab and a creators lounge for local youth.
  • Programming targets ages 14–24 with training in film, music, artificial intelligence, immersive design and 3D creation.
  • Partners include Usher’s New Look, Big Sean’s Sean Anderson Foundation, Ilitch Sports + Entertainment and Emory’s Goizueta Business School.
  • Participants will be able to earn credentials through Goizueta and Ilitch, receive mentorship from industry leaders and pursue potential startup funding.
  • The incubator will sit on the youth-dedicated floor of The Station at Michigan Central, building on Big Sean’s four prior BGCSM studios established since 2018.
