  • For the first time, private buyers in Germany purchased significantly more used BEVs than new ones, with 50,423 transfers compared to 34,433 new registrations.
  • The supply of used BEVs has grown substantially, with listings on Mobile.de increasing from 11,825 in March 2020 to 85,422 in March 2025, supported by lease returns.
  • Three-year-old BEVs now cost, on average, 51.5% of their original price, aligning their prices with comparable diesel and petrol vehicles.
  • Despite rapid growth, the used BEV market remains a niche, with an average vehicle age of 28.5 months compared to 69.4 months for combustion cars.
