USDA Issues Nationwide Recall of Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo Over Listeria

Public health officials traced the outbreak strain to FreshRealm facilities after a March plant sample confirmed the listeria link.

Overview

  • As of June 17, 2025, the outbreak has sickened 17 people in 13 states and led to three deaths and one fetal loss.
  • FreshRealm establishments in San Clemente, Calif., Montezuma, Ga., and Indianapolis, Ind., produced the affected chicken fettuccine alfredo meals.
  • Recalled items include Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo and Home Chef Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo bearing establishment numbers EST. P-50784, EST. P-47770 and EST. P-47718.
  • Best-by dates on recalled trays run through June 27, 2025, and consumers should discard or return the products to Walmart or Kroger stores for a refund.
  • Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe illness in older adults, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals, with symptoms such as fever, muscle aches and gastrointestinal distress.
