USDA Issues Health Alert for Two HelloFresh Meals Over Listeria Risk in Spinach

The alert follows FreshRealm’s report that spinach used in two ready-to-eat meals tested positive for Listeria.

Overview

  • Products identified are 10.1-oz Cheesy Pulled Pork Pepper Pasta (Est. 47718, lot 49107; Est. 2937, lot 48840) and 10-oz Unstuffed Peppers with Ground Turkey (P-47718, lots 50069, 50073, 50698).
  • HelloFresh said it directly notified customers who received the meals between Sept. 6 and Oct. 9 and advised immediate disposal or return.
  • FSIS reports no illnesses tied to these meals to date and urges high-risk individuals to seek medical care if symptoms occur within two months of consumption.
  • FreshRealm’s routine testing detected the contamination, supplier Sno Pac Foods recalled implicated frozen spinach lots, and FSIS indicated additional products may be added to the alert.
  • The spinach alert comes as regulators continue a separate investigation into FreshRealm-linked ready-to-eat pasta products associated with about 20 illnesses and at least four deaths.
