The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for Trader Joe’s Chicken, Lentil, & Caramelized Onion Pilaf due to the presence of rocks.
Multiple consumers have reported finding rocks in the product, with at least one person suffering a dental injury.
The affected products were produced between November 1, 2023, and January 19, 2024, but are no longer available for purchase in stores.
Customers who have purchased the product are encouraged to check their freezers and either discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s location for a full refund.
This incident marks the fourth Trader Joe’s product containing rocks in less than a year, raising concerns about food safety and quality control.
