Overview

  • Starting July 1, USCIS will send all text alerts from 872466 (USAIMM) instead of the former 468-311 (GOV-311).
  • Applicants who file Form G-1145 will continue to receive case status updates and appointment reminders by text and email from the new number.
  • USCIS advises applicants to save the new contact and disregard messages from the old number to prevent mistaking official notifications for spam.
  • Earlier this month, the agency began requiring renewed medical examination forms for all new permanent residency applications.
  • USCIS warns it will never request payments or passwords via text and points to recent ICE-coordinated arrests in Detroit as part of its compliance push.
