Overview
- Amara Dukuly, a 43-year-old USCIS officer based in Pennsylvania, was arrested June 26 and charged with bribery of a public official for allegedly soliciting payments in exchange for official acts.
- Prosecutors contend that from 2015 through 2025 Dukuly used his position to promise green cards, work authorizations or visas despite having no authority to deliver them.
- In April a confidential informant posing as an immigrant recorded Dukuly accepting $6,000 during a meeting in an Eddystone Walmart parking lot.
- Court documents outline at least six other occasions when Dukuly requested cash or valuables and, in some cases, returned only partial refunds or threatened victims when no action was taken on their cases.
- The investigation is led by DHS’s Office of Inspector General, Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Anita Eve prosecuting; Dukuly faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
