USC Warns of Man Posing as Building Manager Near Campus

  • USC’s Department of Public Safety reported multiple incidents in which a man gained entry to apartments by claiming he needed to fix a water leak.
  • The encounters occurred near the University Park campus on the 1100 block of 28th Street and the 2600 block of Orchard Avenue.
  • Once inside, the man reportedly entered residents’ rooms and asked inappropriate personal questions, including about romantic relationships.
  • In one case, DPS said the man took a resident’s car key fob and returned it later that night.
  • DPS released images of the suspect and advised residents to verify identities through building management and to contact DPS or 911 if uncertain, as the suspect remains unidentified and no arrest has been reported.
