USAF Awards Raytheon $345M Contract for StormBreaker Smart Weapons

Weapons currently undergoing testing on all F-35 variants after 28 successful test drops in 2023.

Raytheon has been awarded a $345 million contract to supply the United States Air Force (USAF) with over 1,500 StormBreaker smart weapons.
StormBreaker weapons have completed 28 successful test drops in 2023 and are currently being tested on all variants of the F-35.
The contract includes additional all-up rounds, containers and trainers and is expected to be completed by August 2028.
The StormBreaker is an air-launched missile that uses navigational guidance technologies to strike its targets, even in poor visibility situations.
The modified contract also involves foreign sales of the weapons to Norway, Germany, Italy and Finland.
