Overview
- USA Hockey set an Aug. 26–27 orientation in Plymouth, Michigan, describing it as a team-building and administrative event with no formal on-ice activity or public component.
- The invite list includes all but one of the 4 Nations Face-Off players, five previous Olympians, and 12 members of the 2025 world championship gold-medal team.
- Matthew Tkachuk, already among the six players locked in alongside Auston Matthews, Jack Eichel, Quinn Hughes, Charlie McAvoy and Brady Tkachuk, will not attend the orientation.
- Invites are non-binding, and notable omissions such as Lane Hutson, Thatcher Demko, Alex DeBrincat, John Carlson and Brock Boeser can still play their way onto the final team.
- Goaltenders invited are Joey Daccord, Connor Hellebuyck, Jake Oettinger and Jeremy Swayman, with GM Bill Guerin and head coach Mike Sullivan leading the selection process.
