US$12 Million Domo Siglo 21 Announced in Córdoba as Promoters Tout 14,000-Seat Arena Plan

The project aims to restore mid-size venue capacity after the Orfeo Superdomo's closure.

Overview

  • Universidad Siglo 21 and Universo Jiménez formally presented a 4,500-capacity mini-stadium to be built on the university’s campus near Córdoba’s international airport.
  • Construction is expected to begin next year with an opening targeted for October 2027 to early 2028, and promoters project significant jobs and tax revenue though those figures are their estimates.
  • The venue is pitched with a modular design, 360-degree sound, ultra-definition LED screens, full accessibility, VIP boxes and curated food options.
  • Funding is proposed through VIP box presales—about US$200,000 annually per box—along with anticipated support from Banco de Córdoba and national financing that has not been detailed.
  • Carli Jiménez also announced plans for a separate 14,000-seat arena in Córdoba and a five-year concession to operate a Buenos Aires stadium, while the former Orfeo site is being dismantled for a different private redevelopment.
