Captain Hilary Knight scored on a power play 28 seconds into overtime to secure a 3-2 victory for the United States women's hockey team over Canada.
The win gives the U.S. team a 3-0 lead in the seven-game Rivalry Series.
Murphy and Kirsten Simms also scored for the Americans, while goalie Aerin Frankel made 32 saves.
The U.S. team has now won four straight games against Canada, dating back to their 6-3 victory in the gold-medal game at the world championships in April.
The next game in the series will take place in Sarnia, Ontario on Saturday.
