Overview
- The U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows citizens of 41 countries, including the UK, Japan, and Australia, to enter the U.S. visa-free for up to 90 days.
- Travelers must obtain an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), which is valid for two years or until passport expiration.
- Individuals with post-2011 travel to North Korea, Iran, or other designated high-risk nations, or post-2021 travel to Cuba, are ineligible for the VWP.
- Dual nationals of VWP countries and nations like Iran, Syria, or Cuba must apply for a traditional visa instead of using the VWP.
- India remains excluded from the VWP, and eligible travelers may still opt for B-1/B-2 visas for extended stays or multiple visits.
